Product Description
A genuine Brazilian cowhide rug, chromium tanned, hair-on, with a natural suede back. Each hide is individually measured and photographed, so the pattern, colour and size on this page are the piece your client receives — not a representative sample.
Hides are hand-selected at the tannery from the top 15% of what our buyers inspect. We leave the thin, scarred and patchy skins behind, which is why our returns rate is a fraction of what drop-shipped catalogue stock produces.

Materials & Construction
Full-grain Brazilian cowhide, chromium tanned with the hair on, then trimmed and finished by hand. The reverse is natural suede — not painted, bonded or latex-coated, which is what lets the hide sit flat and breathe on a hard floor.
Edges are trimmed to the natural outline of the hide and inspected for loose hair, thin spots and scarring before the piece is photographed.

Care & Handling
Everyday: vacuum on a low setting or dust mop with the direction of the hair. Shake it out occasionally and rotate it in high-traffic areas so wear stays even.
Spills: blot with a damp cloth and mild soap — hair-on hide is naturally liquid-resistant and most spills lift straight off. Never leave a hide soaking; blot and air dry.
First two weeks: a rolled hide takes one to two weeks to lay completely flat, or a damp cloth and a low iron on the suede side will do it in minutes. Light shedding in the first week is normal and settles.

Shipping
Orders placed on a business day ship same day or within 24 hours from our Palm Beach Gardens, Florida warehouse. Every shipment carries tracking.
Most domestic deliveries land in 2–5 business days. International shipping is available with customs and duties calculated at checkout.
Blind shipping to your client's address is available on request — ask the trade desk before you place the order.

Pricing tiers. The price shown on this page is your current tier. Volume breaks apply automatically at checkout — you do not need a code and you do not need to call for a quote on a standard order.
Reorders. Cowhides, calf and goat are one-of-a-kind, so an exact reorder is not possible. Tell us the SKU you sold and the trade desk will pull the closest match from current stock. Sheepskins and inserts are stocked in multiples and reorder exactly.
Drop-ship. We ship direct to your client under your name on request. Flag it before the order goes in.
Resale and tax exemption. Send your resale or exemption certificate to Sales@HudsonHides.com and we will apply it to your account.
Samples. Swatches and sample pelts are available for specification work — call the trade desk.

Graded Before It Reaches You
Our buyers stand on the tannery floor and go through the run by hand. Roughly 15% of what they see is good enough to carry a Hudson Hides stamp — the rest goes to the wholesalers who sell on price.
That is the whole reason a trade account with us costs you less in the long run. You are not sorting a pallet to find the three hides you can actually put in front of a client, and you are not eating the freight on the ones you send back.
Sizing a Hide to the Room
Cowhides are measured at their widest points, so a 7' x 6' hide does not cover a 7' x 6' rectangle. Work from the square footage on the spec table when you are quoting coverage.
- XX-Large, 7' x 8' and up — great rooms, under dining tables, primary bedrooms
- X-Large, around 6' x 7' — living room centrepiece, larger offices
- Large, around 6' x 6' — standard living rooms, reading corners
- Medium, around 6' x 5' — home offices, secondary bedrooms
- Small and accent, around 2' x 3' — entryways, bathrooms, bedsides
Brindle and tricolour are the easiest sells against a mixed palette. Black and white reads as a deliberate statement. Solid and salt-and-pepper suit minimal rooms where the hide should not compete.

Email your resale or tax-exemption certificate to Sales@HudsonHides.com. We apply it to the account, and it carries across every order from then on.
Can I get samples for a specification?

Yes. Every cowhide is a single SKU with its own photographs and measurements. When it sells, the listing comes down. There is no substitution and no "closest available" shipped in its place.

Not identically — no two hides are the same. Send the trade desk the SKU you sold and we will pull the nearest match in colour, pattern and size from current stock and photograph it for your client before it ships.
